A Used To Be Sunny Day Poem by Jayne Doe

A Used To Be Sunny Day

I'm a cloud
On a used to be
Sunny day

Floating by
So that I
Can just walk away

Casting shadows
As I go
Are they yours
Or just my own

Reflection lost
In images
Of windblown seas
That mirror me

Is there anything
I bring
To make the others
Follow me

Or do I leave them
Drenched in doubt
Claiming silence
As my shout

Perhaps it is just
What I do
Cause a drought
And them blame you

My dear,
I think,
It's time you know
In a room of many
I'm a one man show

Both the actor
And the audience
Are one in me
With false pretense

Never knowing
What we mean
Play it cool
Or so it seems

So sure of what
It is we are
Glimpses of
A fallen star

You only see me
When I'm gone
And to myself
I am still conned

An empty mirror
Is my cost
So to myself
I am still lost
