Who is that person standing way over there
Though I don't know him, for me and others he does care,
He worries about me when I am ever on the job
And he fights for me, so the company can't or won't rob.
If ever I am in trouble I can always give him a call
He will always stand beside me to always stand tall,
And I can call him anytime, either day or night
For me at my side, he will always be there to protect and fight.
Because of him I always get a good pay
And because of him I feel safe on the job everyday,
Whatever I need for my well being or safety he always gets
And because of him, I receive and I have great benefits.
Because of him I will always get paid my overtime
And when I'm working on the sabbath I will get an extra dime,
And yearly I get a paid vacation as well
He has done me and others good from what I can tell.
Decades from now, one day I will finally and happily retire
Him and others like him I will still proudly admire,
Because of him I will still have my benefits and now a pension
In thanks unto him and others I continually praise and give mention.
He doesn't worry about a person's belief or of their gender
From their side he will never desert or will ever surrender,
He doesn't care if you're black, white, red, yellow or tan
Because, he is a union man.
