A Une Certaine Cantatrice.(Translation) . Poem by Michael Walker

A Une Certaine Cantatrice.(Translation) .

Rating: 5.0

quelque revolte audacieux;

-' To a Certain Cantatrice'. Walt Whitman.

POET'S NOTES ABOUT THE POEM
Poem Hunter/ W. Whitman/ poems/ 329/393.
The poet was keeping a present for a hero or an orator or a brave soldier, but he now sees that this female singer deserves the gift just as much. She must have impressed him with her singing. It is typical of Whitman to give credit to a woman just as much as a man.

You have highly praised this poem, which I did not think was brilliant. But there you are-different people, different tastes. Thanks.
