A Twinkling, Obnoxious Little Silver Star Comments

Rating: 3.9

And when I opened to unpack they came like swarms
of silver insects, bright and ready to invade.
A silver touch, I thought, the carpet was a-glitter,

This stands as the best poem I have read of yours. How you hit so deep with words, feelings we wish to forget...but then they're stars. Above us, keeping watch. Until we are the stars to join them. Magnificent! ! xxElysabeth

A job well done Herbert, the poem is really impressive. Written with feeling, you have talent that only a few possess. Helgard

As a whole this poem stands among the more creative pieces I've read here on poemhunter... But this line: ' and storms are really, don't you know, just acts of God.' made my muse quiver. It's so simply and yet so profound. It stirred my imagination on so many levels..Thank you! It's been a long time since I've been honestly inspired by poetry... Always, Amberlee

In response to 19 personal messages I am posting a small explanation; Yes, everything is fine. The past is long gone. Dedication: I dedicate this to my teacher, who truly has always been a twinkling star to me. I have had the pleasure of being sent teachers whose wisdom and concern far exceeded what was ever required. Obnoxious at times? You bet. I think that comes with the territory. The teacher in this story, however, is the teacher I do love, with all my heart. And that's why I won't tell you who she is.(I cannot help it if this confuses you) . H

Rich is right, and he usually is. Alot of pain there, feeling and truth mixed in. I loved it, especially the ending. I really believe that you are one of the best poets here. You need to publish. You will be known for your poems someday. Excellent poem,10+

Your Poem Touched my heart as I felt your pain. Was this from your life may I ask. You sound like a gentle kind soul who was hurt very deeply. Hugs Jan
