A Truth Best Avoided Poem by Matthew Holloway

A Truth Best Avoided

A truth best avoided
a truth which feeds such doubt
that which breeds daemons
the monsters within men
night, shadow stalkers
alas a truth unavoidable
for it is told in fate and future
a life of solitary
a life alone without love
without that holding hand
that one special soul
who understands and cares
who nurtures and loves
no such a truth should not be
heard or ever considered
keep the lie, the pretence, the act
though all strength subsides
lie and smile
