A Trip To The South Poem by Saul Palti

A Trip To The South

I have been to the left and been to the right
I guess there could be more than the two
we all thought this was all
but here come something new

A north and a south to welcome the sun
bringing more loss at the flip of coin
where I shall begin to run
far from the lies they told

I got in to the blaze and sat in fire
the south shall be my demise
and every word is a spoken lie
maybe I could of picked the higher

so I comfort my mother who held my hand
all throughout my childhood
as I travelled across this great and fruitful land
with a cup and a grin

elegance is best sought off
so I can pass this waste of time
over lived on this earth of mine
I once was a butterfly but now I am a moth

the ladder leans against a wall
to help me climb so tall
up and over the brick built mall
I better beware I dont slip and fall

I wish there was more of a choice
of where to go
away from every battle
that comes real slow

a friendly stranger grabs my throat
and takes me on his boat
its there I sail the seven seas
so this is where I freeze
