Edmund, just when I think I have read your best poem ever, you come back with yet another top notch piece of writing. You are such a blessing to the rest of us- -a demonstration in how writing excellence is achieved. I found the stripped down to the essential writing style perfect for the man who has left a ton of frills and non-essentials behind him. That tin cup. That was the perfect image to carry this poem from beginning to end. Every line in this poem is perfectly formed and presented, no line is superfluous. Life stripped down. He had a date with the universe For he had always heard her whisper With age the siren song grew sweeter He laced his boots for the journey to come- - - - - - - - - - - - - - - - - - - Superb. I know it's not very critique-ish to say this but sometimes literary formality doesn't cut it so- - - - - Edmund, you rock! ! ! ! A thousand ten's and a very honored placed for this on my Fav list.

I would like to add that life is worth only as much as a tin cup. Death is inevitable n overwhelming. The insignificance of mortal life is beautifully depicted here.

Wowww. a very profound piece of writing. A great representation of life. A man has to make choices in life and time comes when he has to make a new beginning. Life is not static. It's in a constant flux. Acceptance of change makes us strong n spiritually inclined. A wonderful write. A huge 10.

I absolutely love this poem, I think this is your best yet. So very well written, you can see the man walking his chosen life and hoping to hurt no one, that they would understand his choices. A gentle, free, strong man. I love what the tin cup represents, a new beginning. This poem is an inspiration as is the man behind it. Thank you for sharing this one :)
