A thousand reasons
We shall always live together in peace and harmony,
Whispering sweet words to each other every night before falling asleep,
There won't be any secrets between us, never,
Our love will shine bright and will never fade.
A morning kiss on the lips and a big warm hug on return from work.
Evening and weekend dates will be our thing,
Ah, the things we imagined in marriage!
We didn't see us fighting ever but it often happens,
I have made you cry and many times you've slept angry with me,
The promises I made when we still dated and before getting married,
It's so unfortunate I have broken and failed to fulfill a great deal of them.
My phone has become a vault of secrets that always creep out to daunt you,
It's an old chat, message or phonecall that has had us fight over and again,
There's none to blame but me, I acknowledge this,
I was supposed to be your prince charming for that's what you envisioned me to be but,
Alas! it's not been a bed of roses like we had both imagined.
Many times I have left you in the lurch my dear,
I have over time and again given you a thousand reasons to pack and leave,
But like a real superhero, you have forgiven me and steadily our marriage has remained,
I have given you a thousand reasons to
quit this marriage but you stayed and that,
That has given me a thousand reasons to love you more my dear wife.
