Service is a sacrifice one has to do duty bound and with compassion. Call it any name. Rose smells rose even if you call it by any other name.
again a very insight full and read-worthy piece.
We all have our own views on service...you have expressed yours well...10++
Cleverly constructed piece, a service for many a mind to think about my friend, well composed
service would be either FREE or WITH PAY...services made by religious people are another kind of service..which is which, each one has its own interprettions... naizz
Those greedy minds stained the word service to the people. True to your poem, you have stated a fact in this. True service is giving your hand without any conditions and expectations in return....Great theme! ! !
You are perfectly right in this poem - service is probably the most abused word used by the so called service people....great write
Because of selfish people it has changed meaning in politics and religion. Indeed no one is true and doing anything in the true sense selflessly. You have rightly pointed out that in your poem!
Let us not cling too much on the definition of 'Service' as given by the image of the world. Let us believe only in the concept. The concept has definitely a value. There is difference in mere work and service. Work can be monotonous whereas service need not be. Service is an attitude behind our work. We can work for our customers. We can also serve them. What constitues the difference? In the first case, we become simply mechanical and get caught by the paraphernelia of it. In the second case, there is contentment within us. Our work becomes so personalized and heart to heart exchange takes place. If we look around, we can see that the entire nature (we are also part of this nature) is serving our life in various ways. We have a duty to repay it. Are we mindful of this responsibility? We should not forget this. 'A compassionate helper is not a 'server'' - Now you can see that this idea is incorrect. Let us not try to spread false ideas through our poems. This is my earnest request to one and all poets. We should not spread the idea that the very concept is wrong. This is what I want to say.
