A Tender Heart's Request Poem by LeeAnn Azzopardi

A Tender Heart's Request

Rating: 5.0

I want to go somewhere where the rivers are pure
I want to go where the cariboo sings
Where the trees are my only friends
And my dog and I would roam
I want to be in the most peaceful place
But isn't on this earth
Everyone wants to kill someone
Over the stupidest reason
I read the paper, watch the TV
And what I see makes me cry
I guess I am safest in the basement of my parents' house
With their ghosts embracing my heart
And the walls keep me alive

One of the best poems I have read, on peace and climate change. "… the most peaceful place…... isn't on this earth" exquisite… top score

It's so very peaceful in Northern Ontario. Planning to go visit friend on Manitoulin Island this summer. I too am totally fed up with the stupidity of war.
