A Tea Seller Poem by Dr Dillip K Swain

A Tea Seller

Rating: 5.0

Raghu is a poor tea seller who remains happy selling tea
to his customers who visit his tea stall at different time
and in different fashion-hardly a few are ladies, many are gents-
some are tall, -some are dwarf, some are fat, some are thin;
some are talkative, and some people are found reticent.

Raghu never looks at the type, manner, and attires of the people!

People go on talking on different subjects about agriculture,
on education, employment, family issues, social issues,
national issues, party, power, politics-The poor tea-seller
listens to everything but all things go beyond his understanding
thus he keeps himself busy heating the tea kettle and serving tea
sans participating or interfering with any debate and discussions

The contents of cups of tea are the same for all categories of people; no more no less and the price of a cup of tea remains the same! The poor tea seller is happy because he minds his own business and impartially offers the same quality of tea

Raghu does not compare his standard of living with others as
he never thinks of cheating others and amassing a lot of wealth
nor of building up a luxurious multi-story house nor flying by
aircraft visiting various countries and eating delicious meals
in hi-fi restaurants thus he lives a simple and happy life.
