A Tale Of A Girl Comments

Rating: 4.8

I'm Julie, then I was only of eight
I was blooming from a bud like a little rose red.
I enjoyed this gleaming world, pleasing my eyes
A world saturated with splendor, aroma and so bright.

Amitava, a very poignant poem about one of the most atrocious crimes of this modern century, A young girl being violated for no apparent reason other than the rapist lusted after her in a fit of anger. Having to feel shame for something that is not even her fault is horrible. Perverts like that should not be allowed to live among us. Thank you for standing up and speaking about this, you are a brave man above men. Thank you, Amitava. 82264

What has happened and what is happening is by some humans of our society, given birth, taken care and trained by some of us. May be to some extent I and we are responsible for this and victims in this type of cases. Women are still weeping silently in a corner all over the globe. Good write with good feelings. I liked it.

The innocence taken from these children. The predators, who do they think they are?

...........an astonishing write of the real life....not only the innocent and naïve girls are raped but also babies, old women, boys, men and women of both good and bad character....it is always good to be cautious when around strange and suspicious people and in unknown locations....

Why a woman is a commodity? Men cannot be spared from the responsibility but there will be a debate whether women are also responsible for it or not? Do the women also like to be a commodity? As far as an underage girl is concerned, teasing he, r under no circumstances can be excused.

Forgive me if I offend, but I believe that this downgrading of women stems from religious beliefs, Christianity included, and it will continue until these outmoded ways of thinking are updated., Much to ponder upon here.

A girl when growing out from childhood to adolescence suddenly sees around her a hostile world with people looking at her with daggers hidden....! All along the path she travels, she sees hidden traps! She finds no true shelter... Even in places where she hopes, she would be harboured safe, there are assassins lurking! Where shall she be safe? Let each man change his mindset....! I greatly appreciate this deep concern coming from a man! Thanks Amitava!
