I can very well relate to that. The death of a pet can make one very depressed. But the sweet memories of a great time spent with our pet can soothe us even though our pet can never come back to us. Great piece of writing here - thanks for sharing.

Beatiful strong poem. Made me immediately think of the poem 'eternity' by W. Blake. Most of the beauty in our lives is transient. I do not have too much of problems avoiding to get too attached to things of beauty. There are so many. But our human closest relationships are very different. I refuse to give up attachment to the wonderful humans in my life. When they are gone forever it can be devastating, but with time, the sadness brings something sweet in terms of grace and gratitude. After a while we can see they were truly sweet gifts of God. Congrats with this wonderful poem and all the best Hans PS: I have written some comments on the William's Blake 'eternity', you may like to read.

nice poem... agree with DICKSON here... it's just sometimes people do not recognize God's gifts... good to know people like you who appreciates them!
