A Study In Your Absence Poem by Jack Williams

A Study In Your Absence

Rating: 4.0

When we were together
Everything tasted sweet
I built my life around you
I strutted to your beat

Somehow you were everywhere
You filled me up completely
From my stuttering aorta
Right down to my capillaries

Now that you have gone off
How sour things seem to taste!
My foundations shaken down
I’ve lost the rhythm in my pace

Your absence now is everywhere
Air whistles through my veins
An empty space inside my heart
Where you would not remain.

Wow Jack, this is seamless; pure enjoyment and smooth as silk.
