A Strange Dream Poem by Namita Rani Panda

A Strange Dream

I saw in dream a golden morning
Maa Durga descended to shower her blessing
when the atmosphere was pious with holy chanting.

At once all lifeless Durgas thrown in the gutters
became alive and active armed with daggers
and started wiping out from the earth all Mahisasuras.

All Saraswatis ran with a great zeal
towards schools breaking windows and grills
to gain knowledge and reach the pinnacles.

The Laxmis started struggling for their freedom
No Narayanas dared to throw them out of their homes
No selling of baby or body for meagre income.

The Krishnaas boldly fought for their rights
No Yudhistiras dared to gamble them in the court
and Duryodhanas and Dusshasanas fled in fright.

The Sitas opened mouth against domestic violence
and refused to face trials to prove their innocence
No more they were lured by false praise and assurance.

I saw in dream a peaceful place
where Maa is worshipped as a Maa in true sense
with no hypocrisy and no pretence.

Can such a dream ever be true
where Durgas can paint their sky with their chosen hues
and they can enjoy their rightful dues?
