What a wonderful poem this is and I quote few of my favourite lines: 100/10 On the trail of no surrender, The arrows of destruction had been fired, Now we have found each other swept up on the banks
this will go into the December 2018 showcase. Thanks. i see PH list eleven poems when i search Ovation. There are at least 3 with the title Standing Ovation, but only yours is A Standing Ovation. yours deserves a standing ovation for a unique (one-of-a-kind) title. bri (:

(cont.) a favorite line: Of scars healing in the rain sodden streets..esp. for the alliterations Carlow is the county town of County Carlow, in the south-east of Ireland a Poet's Notes would help us who don't know Ireland and don't read between the lines well, but i enjoyed the first reading and will zoom through it again. (cont.)
(cont.) some favorite lines: On the trail of no surrender, The arrows of destruction had been fired, Now we have found each other swept up on the banks The Barrow is a river in Ireland. It is one of The Three Sisters; the other two being the River Suir and the River Nore. (cont.)
(cont.) I guess people CAN be both 'significant' & 'insignificant' re different parts of their selves and their lives. “Wilful” was once the only common spelling (and still remains the dominant spelling in British English, again according to Google Ngrams) . But then things changed, and now “willful” is considerably more common (cont.)
from stanza 2 to stanza 3 you switched from present tense verb forms to past tense verb forms. i think i sometimes accept such writing; i'm not sure here. i'm liking this though it may make Bri, me, think TOO MUCH. ha ha. it seems to flow like a river! (cont.)
Strong Love. Not destroyed by storms and darkness. The true power of unconditional love. I love this wonderful poem, very touching and also thought provoking.
I love the emotional intensity of this poem! I love the imagery, and the force of hope, which only can be felt after a profound suffering! Absolutely wonderful!
Ovation from the animal instincts of men cannot be ignored. Man is a compound of soul and body and both have their own needs. Love is a relationship of soul and body both. Great thoughtful poem.
