Growing age is like an autumn, but if we don't feel it as an autumn, think and behave as we did in the morning of our youth it really becomes a morning of spring. An amazing poem.................10

I didn't have the space to acknowledge your wonderful evocation of Antonio Machado., that luminous poet. I first encountered his work through translations by ROBERT BLY, the Minnesota poet, whose translations of poets of many languages opened the WORLD of poetry to me starting in my early 20s. In his readings, Bly often read Machado and made him come alive for us because he resolutely refused to treat as a dead poet. Machado was alive to Bly; he made him alive to us. Bravo, that you also made him live in your poem!

I learned about this poem from reading Kumarmani's comment on it. I just had to see the whole poem then. It is remarkable! I love this closing reflection JUST A SIMPLE TRUTH OF WAKESFUL CONSCIOUSNESS/AS BEAUTIFUL AS THE OBJECTIVE WORLD. That's splendid! First you acknowledge this experience of beauty is not fantasy or even heightened in any way. It IS the real world of sensory things. Second them beauty resides in the real world - it is not an interrpretation of it or a recreation of it as in Romantic Poetry. It is a given. There is a deep philosophy of acceptance of the world as is at the heart od this poem which is as admirable as it is surprising. POETS ARE SO OFTEN DREAMERS! But you are giving us a genuine experiences of beauty minus the dream of reality. It is reality forthright, unenhanced, pure and in these post-modernist times almost a miraqculous rescue of poetic vision.

Reading a lovely poem this morning about turning nature is definitely fabulous. This gives a very beautiful picture in mind and shines with Autumn. Wonderful and beautiful poem shared.
