A Spiritual Rock Poem by Doris Dzameshie

A Spiritual Rock

Queen Adzovi Abiemo, with a wave of her hand,
Called to the skies, a command so grand.
'Reset the world, ' she did demand,
The universal spiritual rock grinned.

The black man's soul, in dumsor caught,
Fluttering wild, in battles fought.
In agony from the chains of thought,
In discrimination's net, he's taut.

Brother against brother, the strife,
Cutting through bonds as if with a knife.
Eating what's wrong, it's rife,
In anger's grip, it's life.

Self-hatred's shadow, dark and grim,
Trying too hard, the chances slim.
The queen sings, her voice not dim,
'Press reset, ' on a whim.

Borborbo's rhythm, the black man hears,
Amidst the frayed wires, he steers.
Imagining colors, shedding tears,
From continents far, he peers.

From Africa's coast, to Asia's light,
To America's breadth, it's quite a sight.
'How did we get here? ' in the night,
The queen's song takes flight.

'Press the reset, ' she sings again,
Hoping the soul's factory settings regain.
A fresh start, without the pain,
Queen Adzovi's wish, not in vain.

'Queen Adzovi Abiemo, with faith so grand,
Called to the heavens, Christ grinned.
'Grant us peace, ' she prayed, 'across the land,
Guide our spirits with Your gentle hand.'

The black man's soul, once lost in night,
Now seeks the dawn, the morning light.
In agony no more, he finds his might,
In Christ's love, he takes his flight.

Brother to brother, now hearts mend,
The cycle of hurt, they now end.
Wholesome food, on which they depend,
Brings health and joy, it's Godsend.

Anger subsides, with love replaced,
Self-hatred fades, no longer faced.
Trying no more, in grace embraced,
In Christ's arms, they're all encased.

Press that reset, the queen implores,
The black man's heart, now it soars.
Borborbo beats, as spirit roars,
In colors bright, his soul restores.

From every coast, and every clime,
They find their way, through troubled time.
'How did we get here? ' echoes the chime,
In Christ's love, they find the prime.

Press the reset, the anthem rings,
Hope in their hearts, as the queen sings.
Back to the start, where life begins,
In Christ's name, the new day springs.'
