The last two lines are so beautiful, they're breathtakig and they provide an ideal closure for the poem. In this poem closure is very important because your subject is silence which often accompanies closure. GHOST is an inspired metaphor for silence at the poem's end. I sense a connection between that ghost's unobtrusive presence and the peacefulness that settles in without calling attention to itself. Your poem is a remarkable evocation of the Life of Things.
