🍁A Sonnet from a Broken Heart🍁
Santanu Banerjee
In silent rooms where laughter used to play,
I trace the shadows of your fleeting years.
The elder's smile, now fading far away,
The younger's giggles lost amidst my tears.
I think of moments wrapped in love's embrace,
When nursery rhymes floated sweetly around,
Your tiny hands would reach, a soft, warm grace,
And dreams of joy wove bright beyond compare.
I think of moments wrapped in love's embrace,
When nursery rhymes like whispers filled the air,
Your tiny hands would reach a soft, warm grace,
As dreams of joy spun bright beyond all care.
Yet time and choice have cast a heavy shroud,
Your mother's heart now guards you like a wall.
I stand, a figure lost within the crowd,
While memories of you in silence call.
Oh, may the dawn bring hope to set us free,
And reunite my heart, my home, my three.
