A Sonnet For Corpus Christi: (June 3rd,2021) Poem by DM W

Corpus Christi offers us a new way
Of perceiving. For embedded in this
Ancient ritual, is a rich array
Of possibilities. This feast day is
Warm communion formed from bread and wine
In which we encounter His healing presence;
In which we are called to discover divine
Ways amidst human relationships and to sense
The coming of His kingdom of righteousness,
Mercy and justice. For we're one in His body
And blood. Amidst his soft grace and blessedness,
We are stripped off all that divides so cruelly.
In a wanton world of empty wants and needs,
Corpus Christi sows redemption's vital seeds.
