A Sonnet: Eternal Lament Poem by Ayatullah Nurjati

A Sonnet: Eternal Lament

Upon the moonlit shore, my heart laments,
A whisper lost within the rolling tide.
O love, dost thou still dwell in firmament,
Or fade like dreams where silent sorrows hide?

The stars bear witness to our fleeting days,
Yet time dissolves what once was bright and pure.
In midnight's hush, I walk the solemn ways,
Where echoes of thy voice still call, obscure.

But lo! The dawn unveils a golden hue,
A tender hope within the weeping sky.
Thus love remains, though fate bids us adieu,
A flame unquenched, though mortal years pass by.

So let the waves embrace this heart of mine,
For love endures beyond the grasp of time.

POET'S NOTES ABOUT THE POEM
The timeless nature of love, the sorrow of separation, and the enduring hope that love will persist despite the passage of time. It's a beautiful reflection on how love can remain a source of strength and comfort, even when the physical presence of a loved one is no longer there.
