A Snowy Dawn Poem by Amar Agarwala

A Snowy Dawn

Rating: 5.0

Snow-flakes on my window-sill,
My garden gift-wrapped in white,
Mauve skies hued pink and crimson
In the pearly dawning light.

Snow-clad hills and conifers
From heaven's doorway alight,
A tender mist embracing
The Long-spur's tweeting delight.

Fair wilderness wondering
If the flirting breeze just might,
Pause a trifle to romance
While journeying on its flight.

POET'S NOTES ABOUT THE POEM
Winter mornings after it has snowed all night is a sight to behold. Specially in the colder and hilly regimes of North America and Europe. Where the scenic beauty is breath-taking and mother nature inspires man to find deeper meanings to his life. For a poet, it is the doorway to the heavens, for verses are bound to flow from his pen like a sparkling fountain.

I have witnessed and described in my poetry one such snowy morning, when the unforgettable strains of a tweeting Long-spur, only found in such climes, eased away the burdens of my life. The notes still ring in the by-lanes of my memory on cold winter mornings... it reinforces my urge to live and it never fails to soothe my soul.

Very true, the mother nature through motley manifestations presents breath taking awesome panoramas at times and we get stunned. A lucky poet who witnessed one such manifestations on a snowy morning in the mountainous areas of another continent has wonderfully captured the sensations caused by it through his poesy. Thanks for sharing this mesmerizing portrait of mother nature.10+++ points.
