A Small Change. Poem by Amelie Summers

A Small Change.

The single smile
that they gave.
It wrapped me in a hug,
the reason for the smile was so vague.

The urge to smile at another,
to pass the feeling along
was strong and compelling,
and I couldn't do this happiness wrong.

The single smile
that I gave.
It was meek and shy,
though it made my brain explode like a rave.

It made my head pound
The happiness I felt
from seeing someone experience
the hug wrap around like a belt.

The single smile
that they gave,
It's gone around the world
It has filled every cave.

The smile had returned
back to my eyes
The single smile that they gave
has given everyone a prize.
