A lovely poem that soothed and made me smile again....
a summer rain is so nice. after a long heat wave, then the rains come. this was a great poem.
Hello partner and wow, what a refreshing poem. It won't be long until we will see this replay itself in the South. Blesings, LC
Very good. As I was reading I only tripped on one word but not because it's a bad choice just that it is one I am less familiar with. The imagery is very well presented. Nice job.
I'm a summer person and look forward to the intense heat of summer. Winter lingered here in southwestern Ohio and spring is taking its time yielding to summer this year. Henry James once said that the most beautiful words in the English language are: summer afternoon. I like summer storms and the sound of rain on tin roofs. You've captured the feel of a summer day here and the soothing sounds rain makes on surfaces. Nicely written poem. Cheers!
I loved this piece, I think you have a certain Frost-like style and he's one of my favourite poets. Top marks. Andrew

Summer rains have always fascinated my imagination...abrupt unexpected they arrive...and the 'fertile' smell associated with the washed away dust, as this poem beautifully pictures, summer rains always arouse an eerie feel inside the mind...wonderful write, Richard...i liked...10
