A Single Mistake Comments

Rating: 4.6

It almost feels like that one time you make a mistake, actually
exhausts all the perfection you so carefully masterminded before:
as if it all the trance in good and right existed only for a build up
for that one mistake to take more from you, to hurt more, to exploit

I've had my life turned upside down by a mistake. I resonate with much in this poem. Appreciate its expression! ! Thank you!

And it's over knowing that no, you can not afford to make even a single mistake. Because you will lose all that you worked for before that. true it is. but gain energy and power to show others you are a great person.. thanku. tony

A single mistake leads to a series of mistakes, a thoughtful poem.

I feel deep and lasting guilt and self-reproach when I make a major mistake, which will always happen, no matter how prudent I am. Lately, I have thought much more carefully before acting on a decision There is considerable psychological depth in your poem, and tin he very concept of making mistakes.

Thank you for reading and responding. True that mistakes are complicated and we change in their influence throughout our lives, thinking more about a bad decision from long years ago than what we put into that decision in terms of mental consciousness in anyway.

One mistake ofttimes leads to another mistake leads to another and usually there is a " root" one.

O my, my Julia! We all mistakes in life. Sometimes, repeatedly we make the same mistake again. But what does it matter? The moment we realise it is a mistake, we rectify, make amends and move on. Please do not judge yourself so severely. Your poetry is definitely not ruined. I assure you on that. Take care! God bless, my friend! . A full score for your powerful poem.

Thank you Geeta; it was written just during that dismal moment when one can't see through the gray clouds to the sun on the other side. That's why I made it a poem; so it would be recorded there instead of my mood. I think we've all known the feeling. And thank you to you for helping it evaporate. I was just recording that feeling when it first comes over oneself.

The most bitter judge of one’s mistake is oftentimes oneself, the recrimination can be most painful but if one survives and face a new found revelation – peace and mind and wisdom can follow. Each of us may confine oneself in solitary isolation but in experiencing pain, we will never be unique and alone, for there are millions out there who have made mistakes worse if not equal to what you have gone through.

You are right, Chito. I just don't understand why I make such stupid mistakes a little too often for my taste, even when I could have EASILY avoided them and gave in to some wishful naiveté that I knew better than!

Forgive yourself as many others have learned to forgive themselves and still able to recover. Your poetry has not suffered ….10+

This is a comforting response. So encouraging, and yes, I was just in a funk about something and thought why not write a poem about it instead of letting it make my mind suffer? Thank you for your reading, empathy, understanding and wisdom!
