A Simple Truth Poem by Kesav Venkat Easwaran

A Simple Truth

Rating: 5.0

Where does the sun go at night?
Where from the night ascends?
'Let us ask the earth! ''
The thinker in me comments

The child in me intervened
'The sun goes to its tent where
it likes to lie down and sleep
and the night comes running
whenever I want to sleep! '

Before the scientist in me
descended to lend a defense
the child had gone asleep
happily at its end

I like the way the play of the thinker, the child and the scientist is dealt with.. child wins and sleep wins..but you the poet is the hero here...appreciate this poem a lot Kesav

The sun goes to bed giving the chance to the moon to shine and vice versa! A tactical poem....appreciated!
