Another mournful night,
Dawn is still too far in sight.
The power of darkness has been scattered.
No sound except a cry that mattered.
From a lonely heart, lost in despair,
Misled by promises, so fragile and rare.
A love you swore would never end,
Now feels like a wound that cannot mend.
The happiness you once brought is gone.
Replaced by an ache that lingers on.
How I wish my life would fade away.
To find some peace, to escape the fray.
For it cuts like a knife to see,
You were wrapped in someone else's glee.
