I often look for a Poet's Notes, but this one doesn't 'need' one. It let's readers come to their own conclusions about who the 'finest' friend is/was. ;)
I just read it again and the rhyming IS obvious. No stanza is a favorite, as I enjoyed each one as well as another. Did I say 5 stars? bri ;)
I had not trouble or cause to pause as I read your poem, but looked for rhyming afterward. The rhyming I call 'irregular' but is fine with me. Ha ha. : )
Jayne, I wonder which, of two, butterfly was carrying the 'sign'. I wonder how much of the poem in from your imagination vs. actual events. Any? It is truely a LOVELY poem; I rarely say 'lovely' in a comment. five stars.
Thank you Bri. Actually it was my parents grave I was tending to. And there's no finer friend than your Mam or Dad x Miss them every day. I do feel it was a sign. Seeing those butterflies just made my day x
