A Side Order Of Fries Poem by LeeAnn Azzopardi

A Side Order Of Fries

Rating: 5.0

Arise! And follow the sun
As it guides you to a place near it
Where you are worshipped with a purple heart
And a kick in the face
Arise! As the morning turns into the afternoon
And the heat is burning the sidewalk
Cooking yr feet as you seek employment
Saying there's no jobs for a person like you
And you should re-enlist because they have nothing
To offer except at a fast-food place
Arise, Soldier! And salute yr country that you protected
But disrespected you in the end
For the heartbreak will kill you with a side order
Of fries

We sympathize with the poet in the crises he is going through, he is kind-hearted and sincere, but sometimes things are out of his hands, but we wish him success and happiness, thanks for this beautiful poetry
