A Secret Shared Poem by Jonathan H. Scott

A Secret Shared

The evening falls and two
With plans their hearts will keep,
Behind them leave the fading fire
And all others fast asleep—

In passion joined as one,
As others dream alone,
A secret shared as lovers sigh,
For one moment
Is their own—
