A Scent Of Coffee Comments

Rating: 3.7

The moon has interlocked the night in glass.
Trees are no more than dark designs on grass.
The mood of music opens like a flower.
A scent of coffee validates the hour.

scent of coffee validates the hour- Sandra you have perfect command over iambic pentameter, and create amazing lyrical poetry with your beautiful imagery. night fall, moon, shadows, reflecting over relationships- you have created an ambience- serene, quiet- just right for reflection. as always a pleasure to read and learn from, the craft of writing a poem. This poem presents an interesting question... Why drink coffee....when we have its scent? 'The scent of coffee validates'......poignantly saying so much! Excellent.

Each line unfolds the Sandra in them, Each word sparkles like a glowing gem. Imagery speaks softly of her knitting craft, How finely the Nature in her poem grafts. With sweet emotions, the words' guitar she plays, Melodius melodis her rainbow being relays. Sandra, I fumble for words, each image is very finely chiseled. Wow! ! ! ! ! ! ! ! ! ! ! ! ! !

Here lies the mysterious power of poetry—to restore in words, and thus reconstruct, the taste of moments that “may not come again” in reality. Vanishing scents, whispers, and tunes are all brought back in a way that reinstates their immortal presence both in time and in the soul.

Although I've know such timeless and magical moments, immortalized snippets captured in pale light and shade (Things move unseen, but rather felt therein) , I offer my profound appreciation and respect for your unparalleled black opal of poetic brilliance. I marvel at that which you've penned, and the hushed breaths that I can only find in fleeting memories and dreams - never at the union of my own pen and paper. I thank you for the most precious words that I could never see to find, save but deep within the intimacy of heart plucked cords, which even then evade my grasp. I've used the words 'magical', 'precious' and 'brilliance' already - A hundred times over would be an injustice and understatement! Thank You Sandra! ! !

This poem got my memories back at the wake of my grandma, she was loving and caring. The short time I spent with her was filled with memorable moments, she taught me about respect, honesty and other good virtues. Life can go anytime for it is too short to be with love ones and good friends who made our life on earth meaningful. This poem so captivating and helpful to make the most in life while there is time! . Little sad but an inspiration for me. Highest marks Sandra.

Something going on in this poem, not blatently obvious...could it be you fear for the departure of your friend? The descriptive words creating the lines, leave a between-the-lines meaning. This is way GOOD, Sandra! Moonlight, windowpanes, all great. The shadows tantalize. Read this one, people! ! ! xxElysabeth
