A Salute To Police Heroism Poem by Shaila Touchton

A Salute To Police Heroism

Rating: 5.0

In valor and honor, you stand tall,
Guarding the streets, answering the call.
Your badge shines bright, a symbol of might,
A shield of strength, a beam of light.

Like David's stone, your courage will prevail,
Your faith in justice will never fail.
In the face of danger, you stand firm and true,
A heroic heart, like the apostles, anew.

May the Lord's peace be your guide and your stay,
As you serve and protect, day by day.
Remember His words, 'Do not be afraid, '
For God is always with you, in every step you take.

So stand strong, Police officers, in the Lord's might,
Your service a blessing, in the dark of night.
May His grace and mercy be your constant friend,
And your hearts be filled with hope until the end.
In uniform they stand, in unity
Guarding the streets, with hearts that entwine
Duty and sacrifice, a never-ending quest
To serve and protect, and put others first

Their days are filled with pain and strife
Exposed to darkness, and the worst of life
They see the hurt, the fear, the tears and the blood
And bear the weight of a community's flood

Their nights are haunted by memories that stay
The faces of the fallen, the words they can't say
Their families wait anxiously, with every call
Praying they'll come home, and stand tall

But still they rise, with every new dawn
Ready to face the danger, and the scorn
For they know their purpose, their vow and their creed
To serve and protect, and plant a seed
Of hope and order, in a world that's astray
A seed that blooms with every life they save
And though their path is fraught with pain and strife
They walk it with honor, and give their life.
