That was beautifully said, Yiyan. It is a tragedy that it spread so far so fast but God is our hope

I think you are right, Mahtab- -the world as a whole does seem less heroic and less compassionate and more selfish and more mean-spirited

Mr. Unwritten Soul.! ! At least the WW2 ended the German slaughter of Jews. I think that was the last war that settled something, that ended something bad. The rest of the wars since then- -I am not sure what exactly was accomplished that ended an evil once and for all. If the leaders of countries had to face the opposing leader on a battlefield and fight to the death, I think less nations would go to war. Thank you for reading and commenting.

They are supposed to protect us from danger but now they are sent and asked for fighting as politician asked to do. Sad. Each of them is precious and i cant say more but hope that God will keep good soul fine. They deserve our appreciation.

My dear Valsa- -We may live continents apart but many many times we certainly think alike. It's a poetess thing is what it is! ! !

This is a poem that depicts the horrors of war! How many innocent lives are mutilated and destroyed within a matter of seconds. More than the pain and agony caused by wars, it shows the stark difference in the attitude of the past and the modern generation! The people who lived sometime ago never cared for their own safety and volunteered to save other lives while the present generation thinks only of themselves and a small infringement on their freedom is seen as a serious violation!

Robert- - Both? Or maybe selfish people are naturally deranged.... sigh, all I know is that people are saying some very stupid things that actually would harm themselves just as well as others

Yes, this generation will be leaving very bad examples for the following generations unlike many examples of bravery and kindness and love of fellow man shown in the past... sigh... thank you for reading, Suresh

Khairul - -Yes, I agree... a soft generation has be raised up to deal with hard times and they are not up to the job- it demands strength of mind and a set of morals
