First things first: The imagery of this poem is wonderful! It pulled me into the poem and held me throughout. Above and beyond what your poem means to me is the excellence of craft I find in each image line after line. The poem details a near crisis between two people which almost effortlessly resolves itself in the closing two lines with smiles and intimacy. The theme would then be hope prevailing in the unlikeliest situations. But what I appreciate is the sweep of images like THE DARKNESS WOVEN WITH ROSELIGHT/BLINKED AT ME ACROSS ITS BLISS. That's breathtaking in its loveliness; I carry the resonance of that image far beyond the poem into my perception of the world. It makes me see the world at large as lovely. In contrast are simply uttered truths that make me smile at their bold plainness: THIS IS NEW TO ME AS WELL. Your matter-of-fact tine makes this emotion completely believable. There is a lot of darkness in this poem, but it's NOT a Dark Poem, because I sense the light within you shining over what ever crises cause distress. And in the end the light prevails! !
