A rotten apple spoils the whole barrel,
a bad monkey is dangerous for the group,
for they can cause chaos and peril,
and leave everyone in a state of troupe,

I THINK I sent Sando (formerly 'S L') several more comments on June 16. I don't see them now, but I got messages from him addressing my remarks. (cont.)
I can see as many as 9 comments by you on June 16, Ask PH WHY you are not able to see them, I can see all of them.
Sando sent me: 'I am uncertain about the usage of 'to show them the proper respect' in America. In Asian countries, particularly those that were colonized by the British, it is employed as a form of mockery to indicate 'to put them in their rightful position. ''
Nice satire. Pertinent commentary on today's world
To ALL: If you want others to find your page(s) on PH, DON'T use a name as 'simple' as 'S H'.
Instead of 'It's time to show them the proper respect, ', I suggest: 'It's time to show 'monkeys' how to show [or give] proper respect [to others].'
'To me, 'It's time to show them the proper respect' does NOT mean to show monkeys (or humans) the proper way(s) to show others respect.
To me, 'It's time to show them the proper respect' does NOT mean to show monkeys (or humans) the proper way(s) to show others respect.
.'....to show them the proper respect' To me, with over 70 years experience learning and listening to English in the U.S., means 'to demonstrate respect to another', person OR monkey
The rhyming is pretty good, but what's with the satire topic? ? And 'It's time to show them the proper respect, ' is a poor way to express what I THINK you want to express. : (
What IS the difference (if any) between 'mischief and mischief-making ways'? ?
A group of monkeys, good or bad monkeys, may be called a troop, a troupe, or a tribe according to my research. I find nothing online to suggest (to me) that 'troupe' is used correcctly in this poem.
Thanks Brian for for elaborated comments on this poem, I am happy you read it and felt like leaving your views. Though many of your comments are yet to be posted here.
This is absolutely stupendous satire...so greatly needed in these grave times! Thoroughly enjoyed it...with a belly full of laughter!
As stated by David, each nation possesses a troublesome primate and some even have multiple. The predicament of how to handle these creatures remains a significant query as they exhibit shrewdness and manipulate individuals to maintain their position within the pack and hold onto power.
The bad monkey in my country is Boris Johnson. Everyone calls him a buffoon. Sounds similar to baboon, he has corrupted his group and everything he touches. Great poem though.
War is no solution to any problem it leave a bitter taste and more casualties afterwards. Thought provoking poetry.
Monkeys are far clever than humans now, they learn from their parents and they know how to deal with such bad monkey. We humans keep fighting like Ukraine and Russia and then we form groups to support like China, Russia and European countries/ USA etc.
(cont.) I'm assuming Sando deleted some comments I made, which kind of disappoints me, but it's ok if that is why i don't see them here now. : ) bri
