I enjoyed this very much. We are all looking for something, and I have a fantasy of finding an abandoned, intact house from antiquitiy, and in the primal fantasy it was located on the prairie, but prairies are notoriously unkind to fixed structures, so my dream has lightened up to include any place at all, (and what I meant to say, was how your poem fed into it nicely, with all the tidbits from their lives, and even the remaining mysterious boxes (drawers) rumored to be still extant. The way you have masterfully mixed the romance with the reality of living, truly makes this a superb poem on the hope and melancholy of life. Great writing indeed.
