I was attracted to this poem by its title. Yes, poetry and supportive friends can lift one to Heaven! They fill our hearts displacing the vacuum within our hearts and build bridges to carry us to Heaven's threshold! It is a magical realm where darkness never visits and bliss abides! I see the importance you attach to poetry and friends!

hi, bharati! it had been a little while, so i wanted to read a poem or two of yours and chose this one. the following lines got my attention A bridge is built You are lifted To this unearthly abode Where you exist with your Soul and friendly souls There is bliss i was reminded in these lines of the importance and sweetness of friendship and of something i repeated in conversation with other friends last sunday, something i heard years ago. in the first creation story of the bible it says that God created humankind in God's image, male and female God created them. so, we are to understand that from the very beginning God created society, created us to be in relationship with one another. one other thing came to mind in connection with your phrase friendly souls. in luke's telling of the story of the birth of jesus christ, angels tell shepherds tending their sheep that they have good news to all people of good will. to me it seems that friendly souls and people of good will are equivalent phrases. (by the way, it's interesting that shepherds were given this visitation as in biblical culture shepherds were not well-regarded; in families this job usually was given to the youngest. even so, God is referred to as shepherd and jesus referred to himself as the good shepherd, communicating to us God's identification with the lowly.) o that we may enjoy continually the heaven you describe. glen

Life is an ever enchanting music. The realization earned after an intense and prolonged struggle of soul is really very valuable and inspirational for friendly souls too. My experience tells me that poets are subjected to such struggle, may be due to mindset, and such a realization is rewarded to them by the almighty through the muse. Thanks for sharing.10 points.
