The poem contains the rhytm and elegance of a love poem upto which hardly any 21st century love poem can dare to aspire.

The central image 'O my Luve's like a red, red rose' is successful enough, while in the rest of the poem he strains to convince her (and himself) how much he loves her. That's how I read the poem today.

Though this poem is little deviated from its form, yet it's a beautiful composition... fascinating romantic spell that attempts to unfold love song emanating from the inner recess of the poet's heart.. appreciate! ed!
