True! Promises seem to have become something people just throw around to shut you up, to keeep you happy. It becomes annoying no frustrating when all you get is empty promises. Well said makayla!

I have to agree that a promise is just a bunch of words put together. They really don't mean anything until the promise is fulfilled. Is this about a boy you may have feelings for, or is it about your parents? Whatever this is about, you have certainly put your feelings in these lines. I liked reading this because it is emotional, short, and to the point. Many of us have been disappointed by failed promises, but as I have gone through the years I have found that promises are like stale crackers, they break so easily and lots of them are never kept. Maybe disappointed is understating the emotions we feel when we are pomised something then never get it. But whatever it is, a failed promise can be devastating, especially when we are young. Do you know the best and clearest water has to go through a series of filteration prossess to become so. Similary your poems are so clear and true due to the pain you undergo. Never become frustrated and show others what it is to keep a promise!

Yes a promise is meant to be kept. a persons character is judged by what he does not by what he says. good write. they are still people who keep promise even if it's to there own hurt. Good luck!
