# # A Priceless Ornament Poem by Samanyan Lakshminarayanan

# # A Priceless Ornament

Rating: 3.1

every cell in this body
is an ornamental beauty
nurtured and nourished by mother's milk
why another ornament from our mother's milk

are we assessing it's value
can we ever assess it's value

mother's milk along with vinegar
if heated to a certain temperature.....
mind you this is not a recipe
this is how this plastic like material is made
which is then mold into ornaments..and
a value would be tagged to it

are we assessing it's value
can we ever assess it's value

[an article in a tamil weekly 'rani' about a necklace made of this material
in the market now]

It is not an interesting news to me rather hearbreaking. Such waste of Nectar from Heaven God's gift to men we put to such cheap use. Couldn't they have made a milk bank and feed so many children motherless are or their mothers so malnouridhed they are unable to lactate and feed. It is a sad state the world is walking towards, when will we awake to real values in life. As Premji says - we live in the period of globalization........ A good satire that even if it is made into ornaments, how do we value yet? Angel

You make a good point. How can anyone assess the value of Mother's milk with all the benefits of giving a child an excellent start in life. 10 Karin Anderson

Now doctors advise breast feeding of children for building up natural resistance and immunity. A good point you have taken in this poem.

I understand Pandian's point of view and I have so much respect for mothers as we owe our lives to them. But looking at the bright side, I can see the continuing importance of a mother as a great contributor not just to her children but to the advancement of life and discoveries. Marvelous! : -)
