A Port's Dirge Poem by Amar Agarwala

A Port's Dirge

I leave behind in the hearts of men
Fragments of me their souls can spy,
Warm camaraderie that I had shared
That I may live & never die.

No monument stands upon my grave
Nor solemn wreaths or candles lie,
Save an epitaph carved by the winds
Not visible to human eye.

POET'S NOTES ABOUT THE POEM
There are unnumbered poets who die unknown and unrecognized. The mortal world is largely ignorant about their work and efforts. This poem of mine is to honour such thinkers and their work.
