A Political Portrait

A Political Portrait
-Gayathri B. Seetharam
Let me paint a political portrait of Canada's Prime Minister, Justin Trudeau,
Of his meteoric rise to a position
Where he can dictate to, cajole and criticise the people of Canada
And dwell on the emotional strengths and weaknesses of Canada;

Having a political face and personality with chiselled features and wild curls
That have straightened out into a mostly compromising crew cut as the Canadian PM
He was destined to lead as a school teacher
And the Liberal Party's Leader;

Interestingly enough, Canada has not had a highly qualified individual
At the helm of the nation's affairs
Since PM Jean Chretien who is a lawyer by profession
Which I find interesting because graduate school, to a certain extent, encourages self-confidence;

And likewise, PM Justin Trudeau who scintillates in his position as PM,
Takes a backseat with his one degree in liberal arts
When compared to a more qualified person like me
For I have three degrees in chemical engineering and a C Programming Certificate;

If graduate school takes one far in the ability to think and contemplate
Work experience as a school teacher has taken Justin Trudeau
Miles in his ability to impart the wealth of wisdom and understanding
To Canadians in his flamboyant style with flaming substance;

But either I have a fifth column plotting against me
Or Mr. Justin Trudeau is a hard man to the likes of me
Hoping to make a mark on life
With his assistance and goodwill and monetary support
Therefore his political portrait is charming, achieving but strict
And I fervently pray, not unbending but rewarding to me.
