Thank you Richard for this sweet poem. I think just like you dear Poet. Top score + to my favourite
Kindred spirits in life are like a loving family. And PH is like a family. THX so very much for the affinity, Dear Friend. And for adding this one to your favourites.
Happy thoughts, happy reading, happy writing the the best way to lead a noble and virtuous life. It brings fulfilment and tremendous peace.
Couldn't agree with you more, Geeta! Don't know what I do without them in my retirement.
Meaning, it is the reader, the interpreter who understands the aesthetic beauty of a poem, not the poet. Exactly as the prowess or talent in sexual act of a woman is understood by her husband and NOT her father.
2) the shlokam reads thus: " കവിതാരസചാതുര്യം /വ്യാഖ്യാതാ വേത്തി നോ കവിഃ //സുതാസുരതസാമര്ത്ഥ്യം /ജാമാതാ വേത്തി നോ പിതാ"
1) I am always overjoyed with such very interesting comments. That shlokam is so very true. Poet Menon, you, Geeta, Dillip and a few others have so wonderfully introduced me to different aspects of your culture.
2) . I would love for all of you, and others, to continue to do this. It truly enlivens me. THX so much to all of you.
You said it, Richard. Although we write for our own fulfilment, it is the readers who make a real poem out of it. There is shlokam (verse) in Sanskrit, which says so, in a slightly vulgar language.
That's all a poet wants is to be read. Yes, happy fulfillment, so immaculately and preciously well said!
As I'm getting older and older, faster and faster, I'm realizing how much poetry has fulfilled me throughout my life. And honestly, without a readership, it would not be as fulfilling. Sandra, THX so much for your very positive comments and addition to your favourites.
Perfect...... thank u dear friend....
You've left me speechless, my friend!
