Meaning, it is the reader, the interpreter who understands the aesthetic beauty of a poem, not the poet. Exactly as the prowess or talent in sexual act of a woman is understood by her husband and NOT her father.
2) the shlokam reads thus: " കവിതാരസചാതുര്യം /വ്യാഖ്യാതാ വേത്തി നോ കവിഃ //സുതാസുരതസാമര്ത്ഥ്യം /ജാമാതാ വേത്തി നോ പിതാ"
