A Poet's Allegory

TITLE: []A poet's Allegory[]
POET: Sobande Olalekan
FORM: Sonnet

I need to tell my nephew Quadri
that there must be an eid-fitri
after few hours away from Lailatul Quadri
though not all the people will want your victory
but I tell you, you must leave your state of worry
and lets match down to eid-kabir.
Listen to my advice and let it be your accessory,
be warned, never depend on your parent's money and lorry.
Admitedly, Allah is the author of your story,
this is not a political allegory, but a poet's use of allegory,
though not all the people will want your victory
but I tell you, you must leave your state of worry
and lets match down to eid-kabir.
I pray Allah takes you away from your state of worry.
