We have striven, have toiled, Have pressed with the foremost to sing to the men of our time The thought that was deepest, the lay that was lightest in rhyme. We are baffled and foiled. The crowd hurries on intent upon traffic and pay; They have ears, but they hear not. What chance to be heard has the poet to-day? - - - - - - - - - yes, we write to deaf ears today but who knows what readers tomorrow brings.
Incredible write... a poet is often shunned, berated and mostly ignored in this modern day world... but art is its own reward, it is divinity gift upon man and mankind. But like it is so common, man ignores and humbles his greatest gifts. Long live Poets and may Poetry be blessed with immortality! !
