Words of wisdom! A poet may not have a single penny in his pocket, yet he is a rich man have spread his knowledge, having enriched so many minds with his beautiful thoughts.

Yes, I repeat poet's wealth is his mental satisfaction. He is is richer than the richest man who claims his richness in terms of material prosperity. Other things are implied....a great poem!

Every riches has its own instrument for measuring. The only wealth that is immeasurable is the written word..

Poverty, pain, and passions are three Ps that give rise to great poetry as they say. Whilst there is some truth in it, few poets have become financially rich thanks to their poems. But their richness has nothing to do with monetary gains. And the richness of the readers as this piece rightly say.

This is very true. Most of the poets die in poverty but their poems are being enjoyed by people since generations. Nice poem. Thanks for sharing.
