A Poet's Dilemma Poem by Shaun Cronick

A Poet's Dilemma

Rating: 5.0

It's hard to write poetry sometimes,
If too many thoughts cram a mind.
Hard too focus on a solitary theme,
When a logjam can't be streamlined.

And it cruelly goes the other way,
With a single thread of thought.
The idea's there but not the fuel,
Like a stranded blank juggernaut.

Maybe a good night's sleep can help,
To rise renewed and reinvigorated.
With a mind sharpened and focused,
And this poet a lot more motivated.

That's exactly how I feel currently Shaun. You have articulated that dreaded feeling exceedingly well in this poem. It's a tired, but definitely not defeated yet 10 from me!

Absolutely true. A Poet's mind is not always productive. Sometimes our mind is devoid of creativeness and imagination that usually adorn great verses. No matter how you pinch yourself to activate the mind still to no avail. I concur with the brilliant Poet's thoughts embodied in the last stanza. So very true. A well crafted and conveyed poem from the pen of a true and dedicated Poet.
