A Poet Made To Suffer Poem by Shaun Cronick

A Poet Made To Suffer

Rating: 5.0

I can't always be on top of my game,
For are not poets made to suffer.
Many times I write a true howler,
That unloved poem I call my duffer.

Thanks Dominic and you are right. It's very much hit or miss when writing. Sometimes the ones you least expect rise to the top. Thanks again and take care.

That's so true Shaun....it's like albums in popular music...very rare that every song is a winner, It's often difficult to know which poem is good and which bad are bad, as we as poets are possibly too close to our work to see it for ourselves...that tends to me experience for what it's worth. Anyway, this poem for me is a topper rather than a howler, so it's a Top of The Pops 10 from me!
